English Assignment- Writing with YouTube
This assignment will be a "semi-free-write." That means that the topic you choose is 100% up to you. However, I will be looking for a couple of things in your writing.
Here's what I will be looking for:
#1- A good Introduction: If you don't get the reader's attention (your teacher's, your peers, the Internet world that you will be posting your final draft on, etc...) within the first paragraph, we aren't going to read any further.
#2- Some good connections: Relate your writing topic to your life, to the world or to others. Answer the question "why should I (the reader) care?" If you don't, we won't.
#3- A solid Conclusion: Hey, your intro and the body of your writing might look good, but if you can't finish strong, your reader will be left out to dry. Make us think. Make us feel. Make us want to pursue more information on your theme.
#4- A YouTube Video: Find a YouTube video that connects with your theme nicely. While you write your blog entry, post it in the place where you feel it will have the most impact on your writing.
#5- An oral response: When you are finished, upload your writing along with your video onto your blog and read it to us orally through the blogphone. Make sure your voice inflections vary so that the story is interesting for us, the listeners.
Make sure its done by this Friday before you head out for the weekend break.
